Neuron – Neuron starts shipping PRIME Data Concentrator, nBox-DC
Neuron announces the general availability of nBox-DC, the full featured Data Concentrator product developed specifically for PRIME plc based Smart Metering rollouts.
The nBox-DC has been designed and developed based on Iberdrola’s data-concentrator specification, to fulfil the framework contract between Neuron and Iberdrola through 2025.

a technical team, interoperability of nBox-DC has been tested and verified with a multitude of Meters; not only across PRIME v14 (FCC band) but also the legacy v13. Together with nFG, the nBox-DC‘s multi protocol support underlines Neuron’s commitment to phased transition from v13 to v14 where Utility users can decide their own time-schedule for replacements, rather than having to change all Meters in a single high-effort and high-cost exercise. Towards the IT systems, nBox-DC interoperability is also confirmed with the HES/STG over the STG-CD protocol.

Staying with Neuron’s commitment towards substation EDGE capabilities, the nBox-DC also offers Development License for developing additional Smart Grid applications that run on the device.
